From its humble beginnings, AAAB has since become a key partner and organiser of many local community events, including the annual Harmony Soccer Tournament and Eastwood Lunar New Year Festival, and the work of AAAB has been recognised by local, State and Federal governments alike in Sydney’s North West.
Yet AAAB’s mission of promoting harmony and mutual understanding, starting at home in the local community, has remained steadfastly the same. Since its establishment, AAAB has been working through grass roots level activities (where it’s often the most challenging), bringing people and communities together. In a world that is increasingly filled with tensions and conflict, that work is needed more than ever.
I acknowledge the hard work and dedication of past presidents Danny Yap, Hugh Lee OAM and Brad Chan and past executive committees in leading AAAB to the strong position it is in today. I look forward to leading the new committee and continuing their good work as we approach the 10th anniversary of AAAB next year in 2017.
